Our New Springwood Centre is NOW OPEN!

Have you driven down Vanessa Boulevard in Springwood recently? Bright Future has created a brand new, purpose-built early childhood centre, bringing the next level of fun and education for your child to the Springwood community.

After months of planning, building and carefully selecting and placing furniture, equipment, materials and resources, our doors opened on January 29th 2018. We were so excited to hear families, children and our supportive team fill the corridors with laughter and conversations, as new relationships were created and fostered.

Seven months later, and our plan to slowly accept enrolments has been a success and so clearly aligned with our philosophy. With a small, close-knit team, with several of our team members long-standing educators from our Eight Mile Plains centre, we can see our philosophy so clearly infiltrated from room to room. By taking only a few new enrolments each week since the very first day we opened, each educator has learnt every individual child’s name and their family. Each child has also had the opportunity to build strong and safe attachments to at least one educator. With plenty of arms ready and available for cuddles and small class sizes, children have been supported in their transition to Bright Future and we feel we are truly beginning to create a home away from home.

What do children love most about our environment so far?

Walking through Bright Future Springwood’s professionally designed and landscaped playground, you will be faced with every child’s dream yard. Two-storey cubby houses, soft sand, green plants, digging pits and stone paths that fill with puddles are evenly balanced with serene Bali huts, evoking a sense of tranquillity and coolness despite the Queensland heat. Children are bursting to play out here, pulling their favourite educators by the hand to join them each day!

What have been the highlights of our program since opening?

From excursions to the local community centre, to exploring the life cycle of chickens by caring for chicks, to weekly messy play and music incursions, to gardening and learning about the world around us, (plus don’t forget the hundreds of sensory tubs!), each day has been filled with engaging experiences to support children to establish a sense of belonging, settle in their environment and enjoy the time with their new friends and carers.

Where are we headed to next?

As we listen to our families, observe children’s interactions and learn about children’s interests, culture, abilities and needs, our inquiry-based educational program will continue to be inclusive of all children and supportive of family suggestions. Come and walk through our centre today, to view the set up of our environments and the planning displayed in each room. Of course, at the very top of our priorities moving forward, is to support each new child and family to transition slowly into our centre and lovingly nurture strong bonds and attachments.
